"A measure of wheat for a denarius, and three measures of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine" (Apocalypse de Saint Jean 6:6). There is a direct link between this amazing statement and the diskos with the Lamb and particles. We are talking about an original semantic core of the Liturgy.

As we mentioned earlier, the Divine Office has its origin in the Apocalypse, because is described here a liturgical life of the celestial church, and when the saints of ancient times developed a liturgical office, they just projected Heavenly life on earth and reproduced it through the symbolism of the rites.

The Holy Gifts are prepared on the prothesis, in a very particular way, because this system recreates the main idea of Creation, that is why God created our world. This idea is quite simple: first, an integral power coming from God, His Trinitarian light, is divided into multiple particles, and then it gathers into a single unit; thus appears a sacred city of New Jerusalem whose symbol is cubic Lamb.

Creation consists of four floors, four sacred animals, this is like four fingers. The tetramorphs are Life-Giving Cross through which everything goes from nothingness to being.

The Life-Giving Cross is an Asterisk in folded state, it is a flying eagle. Each wing is a bundle of Trinitarian light, so when the wings of the Asterisk are crossed, we obtain a system of nine triangles; it is already a calf, the second sacred animal, symbolizing the world of the angelic hierarchies.

The largest particle of the Mother of God symbolizes a soborial function of the royal lion which gathers the particles of our lives in the whole. The Mother of God is a symbol of God's Wisdom, the symbol of chastity.

And all system finally gathers in God-man who is the Lamb, the King of kings, the Heavenly Jerusalem, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. Here, all Creation gathers into human and divine nature, in immaculate and eternal being in which God is omnipresent. So, the main thing, thatwe needto fixin your mind,is that our whole existence is considered from two perspectives: from the outside, from the side of Eternity, and from the inside, that is to say, directly from the perspective of present time.

And when you look at the universe from the side of God, from the side of Eternity with no time, then our whole life appears in its entirety. Each human is seen in whole and immediately from birth to death; and this integral state of all man is symbolized by cube. The cube is Creation.

Each human builds, within his soul, his own throne in the cubic Heavenly Jerusalem. Thus, in terms of the symbolic theology, all people are cubic structures, thrones, as the Lamb, that is why the saints get thrones. In our case, considered in the Apocalypse's narrative of events, this integral state is symbolized by wheat.

If we look at human life from the point of view of man, inside his own earthly life, then we will have a life path, consisting of a multitude of particles and each particle must be devoted to God, for the process of dispensation of grace could take place. And finally at the end of our path of life, we gather a throne, the Lamb of God, cubic and integral, we get white clothing, in other words, we are clothed in holiness of the Heavenly Jerusalem.

So, remember that the state of life, fragmented into multiple particles, multiple moments of life, is symbolized by barley. Wheat is an integral life, while barley is a life in all its fragments. The integral cube is wheat, but the multitude of other particles is barley.
